Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy

Dear Rock Star,

I hope this update finds you well! Our London Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp could be the last chance you have to record at the one and only Abbey Road Studios.  Although EMI, the music label that owns Abbey Road, is being very hush hush about the possible sale of the studio, rumor has it that it might be converted into a museum. RRFC in London is the crème de la crème of our programs and is truly a magical experience.  We’ve opened up a few more camper bands, so get in now before time runs out.  Last year Slash, Jeff Beck, and Sir George Martin made surprise appearances at Abbey Road....you never know who is going to show up!

We are busy planning upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp events, so stay tuned for some big  announcements including new “RRFC Weekend Warrior” packages and a destination camp in the Bahamas at the world famous Atlantis resort.  Talk about an AWESOME  Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or Graduation gift!

With our upcoming television series on VH1 Classic, we are currently interviewing for local and national marketing representatives for our Weekend Warrior packages.  Please send cover letter and resume to beth@rockcamp.com

If you haven’t joined our Facebook page yet, please do so!  We’ve just added a ton of pictures from past camps, so check them out and start tagging!

Check out the Fox television show, Bones on Thursday, April 29th (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).  The episode is called "The Rocker in the Rinse Cycle"  where the main characters investigate a death at Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp where the murder weapon is a Gibson 57 Les Paul "Black Beauty."

If you have any questions about our London program, please visit http://www.rockcamp.com/london2010.html or call us in the office at 888.762.2263 x2.

Rock on!

Abbey Road Facts

Pink Floyd ‘s multi-million selling Dark Side of the Moon, Radiohead’s breakthrough album The Bends and Oasis’s height of Britpop long-player Be Here Now are among the many notable recordings to have been cut at the studio.

The Beatles recorded 90 per cent of their output in the North London complex with legendary producer George Martin at the helm. The band's first proper session in 1962 resulted in their first hit single Love Me Do, their final stint in 1969 saw them record their swansong album ‘Abbey Road’, named in tribute to the studio that had helped form their sound.

A long list of classic movie soundtracks have also been recorded at Abbey Road, including Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of The Lost Ark and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Volkswagen Beetle parked next to the zebra crossing on the Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album sleeve, belonged to one of the people living in the apartment across from the recording studio. After the album came out, the number plate was stolen repeatedly from the car. In 1986, the car was sold at an auction for $23,000 and is currently on display at the Volkswagen museum in Wolfsburg, Germany.
