Happy New Year! Start 2012 off right with Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp!

AND THE WINNER IS...

We want to thank you all for the overwhelming response to our free camp giveaway. In the first 24 hours, over a thousand emails came in from around the world with amazing stories. Below, we wanted to share with you the winning entry that we've chosen to attend our next camp:

"Dear Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp,

There are many reasons why I believe my Dad deserves to be the winner of your give away, so to say.

My Dad gave up touring with a band that had a good chance of making it big to be there when I was born in 1993. There have been many times when I've thought back about it and cried. It kills me to know that he gave up his dream to see me born, even though he's my Father and he did the right thing. He's always loved music and has been playing bass ever since he was 14. Music is all he wants to do in life. It makes him happy; it's everything to him. He's been in plenty of bands but I don't think he's been given all that he really deserves. My Father is a very loving and caring man, and always has been. My Mother has never been there for me so my Dad has been a single parent ever since my parents separated, raising me since I was 4 years old. He's blown off a good many opportunities while I was growing up to be there for me and raise me. When I found out about your program going on, I thought it would be the perfect thing for him. He's always talked about broadening his skills and going to your camp and when I read about the amazing stuff you're doing and all the amazing people that would be there I just knew I had to nominate him. I can't think of anyone more deserving of it.

I apologize for this not being well typed, I'm crying as I write this. I know there might be a million other nominees out there for this but, I really think my Dad deserves it the most. I want to see my Dad happy. I feel like I owe him so much for loving and taking care of me for the 18 years I've been alive. He's not only my Dad, he's my only friend. No matter what weird thing I decide to do to myself, he supports me 100%. He inspires me to never give up on my dream of being an artist no matter what anyone says everyday by how committed and how in love he is with his music. His mother died two years ago from Alzheimer's and I can tell that it gets to him still everyday. I think going and participating in this amazing event will help him with a lot of the stress and depression that he's been going through lately. Please consider my Dad. I wish I could talk to whoever is reading this personally so that I could maybe explain even more and truly show how much this would mean to not only me, but to him. I want my Father to be happy. He's all I have and I'd love to see him smile and have the time of his life.

So please, PLEASE consider my Dad. It's always been his dream to make it big with his musical talent and even though I can't make that happen, I think going and playing with all those awesome Rock Stars that he knows and loves would make him really happy and possibly brighten up his spirits from the loss of his Mother. Even though he tells me that I'm a good daughter, I still feel like I haven't done enough for him and that I'm the reason why he hasn't fulfilled his dreams. Please help me do this for him. I can't stress this enough. I love him so much and I want him to have the time of his life.

Again, there were so many great stories, and so many people deserving of the spot. It was so hard to choose. This is the true spirit of Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp, and we are so excited to have this father and daughter as our guests.
